Great Canadian Rebates is a website that advertises hundreds of retailers and merchants and allows users to earn cash back and rewards when they shop through their website. When a user clicks through to one of the partner merchants and makes a purchase, they’ll earn cash back. Approximately 700 merchants are marketed on Great Canadian Rebates and about 150,000 Canadians use the site.

Rather than browse through promo flyers in print and clipping coupons or scouring the internet for discount codes, the deals will be brought right to you through Great Canadian Rebates. Plus, you can earn cash back just for shopping online. One click can help you both save and make money on your online purchases at the same time.

Let’s take a closer look at this website to see if it’s worth signing up for.

How Does Great Canadian Rebates Work?

After registering as a user for free, you can browse the site to view all of the merchants that are offering deals and discounts on products and services. When one catches your eye, you can click on it and earn cash back rebates when you make a purchase.

After your online purchase has been verified, you’ll receive cash back that is deposited into your Great Canadian Rebates account. Cash back rewards are paid out monthly via PayPal, Amazon.ca gift card, or direct deposit, or you have the option to request a cheque if your balance is higher than $30.

Great Canadian Rebates receives a commission from the merchants they refer and then splits it with the customers who make purchases. If you are already planning to make an online purchase, using a site like Great Canadian Rebates can help you earn some money back and reduce the overall amount you spend on products you were planning to buy anyway.

Key Product/Service Features

Great Canadian Rebates has some useful features designed to help you save money when you shop, including the following:

  • Cash back rebates
  • Special deals section
  • Travel deals
  • Browse by category
  • Mobile app
  • Credit card recommendations and reviews
  • Referral bonus
  • Sign up bonus
  • Browser extension

How Do You Earn Money/Points?

Great Canadian Rebates works as a referral or affiliate service that advertises various merchants and specific products or services they sell and refresh users of the website. When you click on an offer link, you’ll be taken to the retailer’s website, and Great Canadian Rebates will be credited with the referral.

A portion of that credit will be given to you without having to pay any extra fees or do anything different aside from shopping through Great Canadian Rebates. Once the purchase is confirmed, the cash back will be credited to your Great Canadian Rebates account.

How Do You Redeem Money/Points?

You have three different options for how to get paid out:

Gift Card

Every month, a new e-gift card will be issued for the balance of your account. You’ll need a minimum balance of $5 (excluding sign up bonus), and the minimum balance required will depend on the exact gift card you choose. A bonus of up to 4% will be deposited into your account.

Direct Deposit

Every month, payment will be deposited into your bank account for the balance of your Great Canadian Rebates account. The minimum balance required for payout is $12 (excluding sign up bonus).

PayPal

Every month, payment will be sent to your PayPal account for the balance of your Great Canadian Rebates account. The minimum balance required for payout is $12 (excluding sign up bonus).

Cash back payments are made on a business day closest to the 28th of the month. Gift cards, direct deposit, and PayPal payments are paid out automatically if the required minimum balance has been maintained for 58 days because time is needed to keep track of returns and collect money from merchants. Most cash back deposits will be made to your Great Canadian Rebate account within 72 hours.

Becoming a Member

Signing up for Great Canadian Rebates is a simple process, and there’s no fee for joining. To become a member, you’ll need to enter a few pieces of information, including the following:

  • Email address
  • Password
  • Name
  • Address
  • Desired form of payment

You’ll also have the option to receive weekly emails advertising the latest sales, cash back increases, and any special announcements. How Much Does it Cost?

There is no fee to use Great Canadian Rebates.

Do You Get Cash Back From Any Store/Purchase?

The cash back rebates that you receive are technically from the merchant that you buy from, but it’s Great Canadian Rebates that is crediting you with cash back. Any cash back you make from a store purchase will be credited to your Great Canadian Rebates account, after which the funds can be withdrawn in the form of a direct deposit, PayPal transaction, or e-gift card after you’ve accumulated the minimum amount and 58 days have passed.
